Wow, its been awhile since I have blogged! We got back from Utah on January, 1st and ever since then things have not slowed down one bit and no sign of them slowing down for quite some time.
On Saturday, Dec. 20th we went to our friend's Kayla and Brandon's house for an adults only Christmas party! Brandon is a food scientist for Daisy (sour cream co.) and he is quite the expert on cheese. He had at least 12-15 different kinds of cheese displayed so nicely in his kitchen and the party off by explaining what each cheese was, where it was from, and what it might taste like and then the party began! The cheese was absolutely delicious and everyone had a great time!!! After the party we headed up to Sherman for a few days to spend some time with my family! We went to church with everybody on Sunday and heard the choir perform their Christmas Cantata and it was so beautiful! My mom and uncle did a great job putting it all together! Then the rest of the week we just hung out and did fun things around town. One night my parents took the whole family out to eat at a nice Italian restaurant in Frisco called Terilli's and it was so yummy! On Christmas Eve we went to my aunt's house and had a big family get together and ate, and played a few games and listened to a few of the cousins perform. Ross and my cousin Alex did a hilarious performance of "Tracting in a Winter Wonderland" off of a missionary cd Alex had! Christmas morning was great!!!! We got lots of great things and had a great time spending time with family!! Ryan also played a little friendly joke on me in front of the family Christmas morning. I had been saying for awhile that I wanted a GPS and then I kind of disregarded that and started wanting a Wii, really bad! Well...Ryan never said if he did or didn't get me a Wii and then I just thought he didn't get one because everywhere we went they were out. Well...I get to the last present that was from Ryan and start to open it and it was a Wii, well much to my amazement, I opened the box and all it had inside was a new pair of Express jeans. HA HA....he fooled me! Everyone had a great time with that joke! Of course....that just gave me more motivation to want one and well....I finally went and bought one this past Friday at Game Stop!!! Ryan didn't even know I had bought one until he got home from work and found out it in the bedroom! ANYWAYS......we continued the day at Mimi's and a quick stop at Grandma Wertz's house and then off to the airport to fly to SLC to see Ryan's family!
We got to the airport and our plane didn't take off until 9:30pm and we called Ryan's mom just a little bit before we boarded the plane and she told us that they were expecting a bad snow storm and that it was supposed to drop 8-15 inches of snow. Thankfully we were still able to land and we were only about 10 minutes late and that was because someone was at our gate. There was at least 7 inches of snow on the ground when we landed!!!! That is a lot of snow to a Texas girl! When we were in Utah we visited Ryan's grandparents, went shopping, went to St.George to see the other grandparents, and went down to Vegas for a day. We also went out to a nice dinner at Flemings Steak Restaurant, saw the lights on Temple Square, and hung out with Ryan's friends on NYE. It was a great trip and we had tons of fun!!!!!!!!! Ryan's mom also bought me a pair of Ugg boots and I actually had an excuse to wear them!!! In Texas its not cold enough to wear them all the time and it never snows! Now I have a great pair of shoes to wear in the snow when we go to Utah!
Now we are just back to normal life for the time being. This past weekend Ryan's friend Scott came in town and we went to the Mavs vs. Jazz game and that was a lot of fun! Only about 7-8 weeks until Spring Break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
