13 week sono

Friday, I went to the doctor for the Down Syndrome screening. The first thing we did was have a sonogram. It seems like our little baby is already showing us who runs the show around here. He/She was not exactly wanting to get in just the exact position the sonographer needed them too. The little thing was moving around like crazy, but was never quite in the right position for all the pics the lady needed. We actually had to do the sonogram twice. The second time the baby was laying on its tummy and the sonographer finally got a few good shots that she thought would be ok. The baby was supposed to be on its back in a certain position for the lady to get a good profile shot and a few other ones. Hopefully the ones on the tummy will be good enough! Our little baby is already a thumb sucker. Right now the baby is 3 inches long and weighs about .89 ounces, and is approximately the size of a nice, round peach.

I also had some blood drawn as well. We will get the results of the test when I go back to the doctor this coming Friday.

Below are the sonogram pics we got at the doctor.

Not sure if anyone has told you but if you get the results back and it says your Down Syndrome Screening is positive, don't freak out. That particular test is known to give false positives. My OBGYN never even had me take the test. My BFF took it and it gave her a positive but there was nothing wrong with her baby. Just a little fyi there. :) Glad you got some pics though of the sweet little nugget!
