Eating Fresh

Well, over the past year or so Ryan and I have really started to enjoy cooking fresh or should I say Ryan has started to enjoy cooking fresh. (He is the cook around our house and I help out by doing the cleaning!) There is just something nice about eating something that is made from scratch, every last ingredient, no additives, preservatives or anything like that. For example, Ryan makes homemade wheat bread every now and then and the only ingredients in that are wheat flour, yeast, and a little bit of water, that is it! When you go to the store and buy a loaf of bread there is a huge list of ingredients, so needless to say it is not quite "fresh". Another thing we like to do to cook fresh is go to the farmer's market every Saturday and buy lots of fruits and vegetables. Here is a list of things Ryan makes from scratch: pasta, tomato sauce (spaghetti sauce), bread, rolls, cinnamon rolls, pizza (dough, sauce and everything), tortillas, and much much more! Now....here is a list of restaurants we love in the Dallas area that cook "fresh" as well: Momo's Pasta, Matt's Mexican, Chamberlain's Steak House, Texas de Brazil, Campisi's, and a few others that are not coming to mind right now. Another plus about cooking and eating fresh is NOT gaining weight from all the "extra" stuff that is sometimes found in foods. So here is to my husband the best cook ever!!!!
