On Friday, June 29th Chloe had tubes placed in her ears due to having so many ear infections in a short amount of time. From January 1st to now, she had 6 ear infections. Dr. Sonnen and Dr. Kronenberger think that she never fully got over one ear infection till she got another and that's why her ears never really cleared up, hence the need for the tubes. We got to the surgery center at Baylor hospital at 6am in the morning and checked in. The first thing that bothered Chloe was getting 2 bracelets put on her ankles. She even got one of them off right away and we had to put it back on. She was not a fan! Then we waited for a little bit for them to call us back. When they called us back they put a little clip on her toe to get her blood pressure and pulse. Needless to say she didn't like that either and then the tears started. Once that was over we had to change her into a hospital gown. Once again, she was not a fan! Keep in mind we've already had tears before the anesthesiologist ever came in to talk to us. After waiting a little while longer the anesthesiologist came to talk to us and tell us a little about what he would do for Chloe. Then we waited some more. A nurse came in to give Chloe some medicine that would help her relax before they came to take to her for the surgery. She took the medicine just fine! It took about 10-15 minutes before she started to get a little floppy and loopy! She started laughing at everything and it was so funny to watch! About 10 minutes later the anesthesiologist came to take her and she didn't even look back at us or cry! He told us they would put a mask on her face for her to breathe in the anesthetic and it would take 1-2 minutes for her to fall asleep. Then the actual procedure would take 15 minutes and it would take 2-3 minutes for her to wake up once it was over. Ryan and I went out to the waiting room, watched the news briefly and before we knew it they called us back. When we got to her she was slightly awake and then we held her! She was kind of fussy and the nurse explained to us that it was probably from the medicine and not the actual surgery. They gave her some Motrin to help. She drank 2 full cups of apple juice, had a few bites of a cracker, and then we changed her clothes and set off for home. I think we were in recovery for about 25-30 minutes. On our way home we stopped at Whataburger to get breakfast and when we got home we gave Chloe some pancakes and she ate them just fine! Never once did she have an upset stomach! After breakfast Ryan went to work and Chloe and I just played. Gigi bought Chloe a talking Dora backpack for a post surgery gift and she LOVED playing with it!!! Then we ate a brief lunch and Chloe took a 4 hour nap, while momma took a 2 hour nap!!!!!!!! We definitely needed it after waking up at 4:30am! When Chloe woke up I took her to get a slushie at Sonic! She was a happy girl! Of course she got WHATEVER she wanted all day long! She seems to be doing just fine now! We go back to see Dr. Kronenberger in 2-3 weeks for a checkup and then we should be finished with him! Thank you to everyone for your kind words, care and concern!

Me and my younger brother had to have tubes in our ears when we were younger too. Hopefully she won't be getting anymore ear infections! She is adorable!
